Two Lovers Embark on an Adventure of Violence and Robbery as ‘Bonnie and Clyde’ Returns to Theaters After 50 Years!

Bonnie Parker, Clyde Barrow and their gang are best known for their robberies across the Central United States during The Great Depression. Their reputation has forever lived on in infamy, especially when the 1967 film Bonnie and Clyde was released. Starring Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty in the titular roles, the film was largely popular at the box office becoming the second-highest grossing film of 1967 totaling $70 Million in sales. At the time of its release, the film was controversial due to the level of violence in the film, something that was unprecedented at the time. Since its release, the film has been regarded as a classic in crime cinema but has been criticized for “opening the floodgates” to violence in movies.

The film was released on August 13, 1967 and will be returning to theaters, presented by Turner Classic Movies and Fathom Events. It will be showing on Sunday August 13, and Wednesday August 16. Check your local listing to see if this classic film will be playing near you.

Return to a time of the roaring 30s and witness the young lovers turn to a life of crime, making them one of the most notorious criminals in American History.

Rick Rice: A kid at heart who has loved watching movies from a very young age. Credit must be given to Siskel and Ebert whose film reviews educated me on the world of film inspired me to become a writer myself. I love to read books that range from various topics, copious amounts of research is something that excites me and of course sitting in a movie theater is a highlight of my life. When I'm not watching movies or reading I enjoy listening to foreign music and working hard on finishing my short stories. Currently working on my degree in English with a plan to enroll into Film School with the dream of becoming a screenwriter and director.
