Two LGBTQ+ Films Tie In The Jury Award At San Francisco Frameline Festival

As stated by The Hollywood Reporter, the films Test and Leviticus were both awarded outstanding first narrative feature prize. The results were after a vote was made for the two films as the top winners.

Test was directed by Sam McConnell (Camp RicStar, Brutal), focusing on a sports drama. The film stars Brock Yurich (The Boxer and the Butterfly), Matthew Morrison (Glee, The Greatest Dancer), Tammy Blanchard (The Invitation, Tallulah) and Paloma Garcia-Lee (West Side Story, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew). The producers include Yurich, Daryl Freimark (Nuked, Some Velvet Morning) and Julie Christeas (The Sleepwalker, Black Bear).

Leviticus was directed by Adrian Chiarella (Dwarf Planet, Black Lips), centering around a horror film that depicts external and internal homophobia. The film stars Jeremy Blewitt (The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, Mate), Joe Bird (Talk to Me, Rabbit), Mia Wasikowska (Alice in Wonderland, Jane Eyre) and Stacy Clausen (Crazy Fun Park, Thrash). Hannah Ngo (Latecomers, Iggy & Ace), Kristina Ceyton (The Moogai, Of an Age) and Samantha Jennings (You Won’t Be Alone, Went Up the Hill) produce.

The premiere of the two films during the festival brought a full crowd to Castro Theater. The festival was also taking place during San Francisco’s pride festival.

Other notable films that were enjoyed by the audience include Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma, Jaripeo, Barbara Forever, Maddie’s Secret and Hunky Jesus.
