Inde Navarette Leads Oscar Campaign For Focus Features And ‘Obsession’

Inde Navarrette in Curry Barker's 'Obsession' (2026)

Focus Features intends to campaign Obsession breakout star Inde Navarette for the gold at next year’s awards circuit. The 25-year-old actress will serve as the face for the Oscar campaign in the Best Leading Actress category as the studio will submit entries in nearly every category. Alongside Navarette, writer/director/editor Curry Barker will be submitted across three respective categories, a feat not commonly seen. Most recently, the Anora filmmaker Sean Baker swept all three categories in 2024, so a nomination and win are not unheard ofObsession, which originated as a low-budget, romance-oriented Monkey’s Paw tale, ended up grossing over $505.6 million worldwide against its $750,000 budget. The film catapulted Navarette and Barker as up-and-coming forces within the film industry, and an Oscar’s/awards conversation was inevitable.
