Trailer for “Wolfwalkers” Is an Animator’s Delight

Animators and fans of animation should be excited to see the trailer for the upcoming animated feature film, WolfwalkersThe trailer, which only just came out, shows off some of the movie’s beautiful animation and intricate character designs.

Wolfwalkers is the creation of the Irish animation studio, Cartoon Saloon, which was responsible for many critically acclaimed movies like The Secret of Kells, Song of the Sea, and The Breadwinner. Artists Tomm Moore and Ross Stewart directed the movie.

Like The Secret of Kells and Song of the Sea, Wolfwalkers is heavily influenced by Irish mythology and Irish art. The movie’s story is about a young girl named Robyn who is an apprentice hunter. Robyn and her father travel through Ireland’s mysterious woods in order to wipe out the last wolf pack, but Robyn soon befriends a girl named Mebh. Robyn discovers that Mebh belongs to a tribe of people that have the ability to transform into wolves at night, and Robyn decides to help Mebh find her missing mother.

According to Polygon Wolfwalkers debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this year, where it was met with critical acclaim. Collider reports that Wolfwalkers will be showing in theaters this fall, but the movie will be released on the streaming service Apple TV+ on December 11.
