Trailer for ‘The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society’

You can now watch the trailer for Mike Newell’s 1940s period piece The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society.

The film – adapted from a 2008 novel of the same name by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows – stars Lily James as a journalist named Juliet who is looking to write a story about the mysterious Guernsey Society, which played an important political role during the German occupation of the Channel Islands between 1940 and 1945.

The trailer showcases detailed costumes, beautiful views of the British seaside, and a historical romance between Juliet and a charmingly bookish political rebel (Michiel Huisman) she meets when she visits the Guernsey Society.

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society will be available to stream on Netflix on August 10.
