Trailer for ‘Despicable Me’ Spinoff ‘Minions’ Released

The trailer has been released for Illumination’s spinoff Minions, featuring the adorable and wacky Minions from Despicable Me and what their lives were like pre-Gru.

From the trailer, viewers can watch the Minions’ journey from the dawn of time in their quest to find the perfect master to serve. Before arriving in New York City in 1968, the Minions had a long string of masters, but none of them seemed to fit, so three Minions–Kevin, Stuart, and Bob–set out to find the one perfect master before their tribe is lost forever.

Featuring the voice talents of Sandra Bullock, Jon Hamm, Michael Keaton, Allison Janney, and Steve Coogan, and an all-new cast of characters from before the storylines of Despicable Me and Despicable Me 2, the Minions will be shown fighting to survive in the world and to find their place in it. This leads them to potential master Scarlet Overkill (Sandra Bullock), the world’s first-ever female supervillain, as she tries to take over the world.

The movie will be released next summer on July 10th, 2015, in 3D.
