Tom Holland Speaks On Spider-Man’s Role In The Future Of MCU

In an interview with ScreenRant, Tom Holland talked about Spider-Man and what to expect on the character’s future. “When we’re talking about Spider-Man, I think he’s sitting right in the pocket. I think he’s exactly where he belongs as a superhero, but as Peter Parker, he’s really suffering. He’s really neglecting his human side. He’s giving every ounce of energy he has to protecting the city of New York, and that is coming at a cost.”

In past films, Spider-Man was seen along side the Avengers, aiding them in bigger battles, but with the conclusion of Spider-Man: No Way Home, that has changed. In a statement about the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Kevin Feige stated, “I think there’s a promise at the end of No Way Home, that for as sad as it is that Peter is forgotten by everyone in his life, we are seeing for the first time in the Tom Holland Spider-Man stories him being a proper Spider-Man. Him being by himself, dedicated to saving the city, and dealing with — for lack of better terms — street-level crime, as opposed to world-ending events.”

The next big event for the MCU is Avengers: Doomsday, which has not confirmed Holland’s appearance as Spider-Man as of now.
