A teenage romantic comedy has begun production in Vancouver featuring the actress that played one of the more unique X-Men characters in X-Men: Apocalypse. Lana Condor, who played Jubilee in the film, has been selected to play the lead role in the film adaptation of Jenny Han’s book To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, according to Variety.
The film will follow Laura Jean Covey, a romantic novel buff who spends most of her free time at school in the library reading. Her love life is all in her head, where she dreams of the various relationships that she would love to be in. After her special box of love letters are sent to all of the different crushes she has had in the past, Covey fakes a relationship with one of the recipients, where an actual relationship begins to blossom.
Condor is joined by a variety of actors and actresses, including John Corbett (Raising Helen, The Burning Plain), Noah Centineo (The Fosters, Wordplay), Janel Parrish (Pretty Little Liars, Celeste & Jesse Forever), and Israel Broussard (Good Kids, Jack of the Red Hearts). The film is being directed by Susan Johnson (Carrie Pilby) with a screenplay by Sofia Alvarez (Man Seeking Woman). The film currently does not have a release date, but we will keep you updated as it is revealed.
