TikTok Star Addison Rae Cast in a Gender-Swapped Remake of ‘She’s All That’

TikTok star Addison Rae Easterling has been cast in the upcoming remake of 1999 teen comedy She’s All ThatThe remake, titled He’s All That, is gender-swapped version of the original. This reboot has been in the works for a long time but has recently gained attention again. Mark Waters, who directed Mean Girls, Freaky Friday, Just Like Heaven, and Bad Santa 2, is set to direct the film.

The film is a reverse of She’s All That with Addison Rae in the role once played by Freddie Prinze Jr. The new version of the movie is set to follow an influencer who attempts to turn a nerdy body into prom king.

Easterling has over 58 million followers on the social media platform TikTok, and with her casting in the film, it now makes her one of the first TikTok stars to be cast in major studio film. She also happens to be the highest-earning TikTok star at $5 million, according to Forbes.

The original She’s All That was directed by Robert Iscove, which starred Rachel Leigh Cook (Laney Boggs), Paul Walker (Dean Sampson), Kieran Culkin (Simon Boggs), Anna Paquin (Mackenzie Siler), Usher (Campus D.J.), and Gabrielle Union (Katie).

Miramax CEO Bill Block told Variety, “This reboot is a welcomed step towards a new generation of Miramax storytelling, part of our greater strategy to leverage our existing library with fresh, re-imagined content in both film and TV,”

Lee Fleming wrote the 1999 movie; he joins the remake along with producers Jennifer Gibgot and Andrew Panay, who previously worked with him on the original.
