Ticket sales for Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame broke records on Tuesday. Vendors such as Fandango and AMC experienced website crashes and digital queues as moviegoers rushed to get their tickets, according to CNN. First-day ticket sales on Fandango surpassed the amount bought for Star Wars: The Force Awakens in six hours. In an interview with CNN Business, Atom Tickets stated that it sold triple the number of tickets than 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War within the first hour that the ticket sales began.
CNBC predicted that the film will gross $600 million domestically and about $2 billion worldwide compared to Avengers: Infinity War‘sdomestic earnings of $678 million. Editor-in-Chief of MCU Cosmic, Jeremy Conrad, believes that all of the fan theories created up to this point have raised people’s expectations for the film. “Marvel will never be able to match what some fans have already imagined,” Conrad said.
The 3 hour and 2 minute movie will get multiple showtimes at theaters. New York City’s AMC in Time Square has 41 showtimes on opening day. On Wednesday, at CinemaCon, a clip was released showing the remaining Avengers gathered together to commit to a fight against Thanos as a team.
