The Ghostface Killer is Back in the Teaser Trailer for ‘Scream VI’!

The small town of Woodsboro has been plagued with gruesome murders for over twenty-five years. It’s only a matter of time before survivors move away to start a new life. But problems arise when another killer donning the same costume returns for more. Following the success of Scream in 2022, a sequel was quickly greenlit, and now the killing is ready to commence once again, but this time we are leaving Woodsboro and heading for the Big Apple!

With a working title of Scream VI, this movie follows the events from the previous film as we see the survivors being stalked by a new Ghostface killer in NYC! Returning cast members include Courtney Cox as the iconic Gale Weathers, Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega as the Carpenter sisters, and Jasmin Savoy Brown and Mason Gooding as the Meeks twins! Hayden Panettiere, the geeky tomboy known as Kirby Reed, returns to the franchise after appearing in Scream 4, the last film to be directed by the infamous Wes Craven. Notably, Neve Campbell, the ultimate final girl Sydney Prescott, will not return for the sixth installment after a dispute with her contract. Not to be forgotten, but the true star of the show does return, Roger L. Jackson, the voice of Ghostface himself.

The script is penned by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick, along with directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, who all return to helm this newest installment. Series creator Kevin Williamson also returns as Executive Producer. From the looks of the teaser, we are sure to relish in the suspense of wondering who the killer is this time, and by taking place in NYC, the body count is sure to rack up quickly. Scream VI is scheduled to release in theaters on March 10, 2023. Paramount Pictures will be distributing the film as they did following the fifth installment. Additionally, Brian Tyler is returning to score the film.

Check out the teaser below and get ready for another round of slasher fun heading to theaters in mere months!
