The First Trailer for ‘Black Adam’ Starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Has Released

Warner Bros. dropped the first trailer for the upcoming film ‘Black Adam’ yesterday. Here’s how the official website describes it: “Nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the almighty powers of the ancient gods—and imprisoned just as quickly—Black Adam (Dwayne Johnson) is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world.”

The film is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra of House of Wax, fresh off his last collaboration with Johnson — 2021’s Jungle Cruise. In addition to The Rock, Black Adam also stars Aldis Hodge (Straight Outta Compton) as Carter Hall/Hawkman, Noah Centineo (To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before) as Al Rothstein/Atom Smasher, and Pierce Brosnan (Dante’s Peak) as Kent Nelson/Doctor Fate.

Johnson signed on to play Black Adam in Shazam! in 2014 before the producers decided to use the character for a spin-off film instead in 2017. Collet-Serra signed on to direct in 2019 with a planned release date of December 2021, which was changed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Black Adam is set for release in theaters on October 21st, 2022. You can watch the trailer here:
