The Final Trailer for ‘Jumanji: The Next Level’ is Here; Will Everyone Make it Out Alive?

Welcome back to the jungle, because the final trailer for Sony’s Jumanji: The Next Level is here!

The trailer begins by introducing new characters played by Danny Devito and Danny Glover as Alex Wolff’s character’s grandpa and his friend. As the original group of kids enters into the game, they realize the two old men have been transported with them and now inhabit the bodies of Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart’s characters. The group is confused when they realize the first place they find themselves is in the desert. As chaos ensues, they find their way back to the jungle, but they are ominously told by their travel guide that not everyone will make it out of this game alive. Check out the final trailer below.

The returning cast includes Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan as their old game characters. Alex Wolff, Ser’Darius Blain, Madison Iseman, and Morgan Turner will reprise their roles as the teens who find themselves trapped in the game during the first game. Nick Jonas will also return. New cast members include Devito, Glover, and Awkwafina. Jack Kasdan has also returned to direct the sequel from a screenplay written by Kasdan, Jeff Pinkner, and Scott Rosenberg.

We’ll have to wait and see if the second Jumanji can match up to the first in terms of box office draw, let alone critical reception. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle had a worldwide gross of $962 million. The fact that the final film in the nine-part Luke Skywalker-based Star Wars saga is coming out a week after Jumanji could mean people might be more inclined to see Star Wars.

Jumanji: The Next Level will be released in the United States on December 13, 2019.
