Super Bowl Trailer: ‘The Fate of the Furious’

The family is back and The Fate of the Furious has hijacked Super Bowl LI with an extended new look. The eighth installment of the long running franchise staple is revving up its engine and readying a new high-adrenaline adventure. With The Fate of the Furious, old friends join new ones, this time under the tutelage of director F. Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton).

Following the events of the massively successful (and surprisingly emotional) Furious 7, the latest brings back Dom (Vin Diesel) and Letty (Michelle Rodriguez). Following a break from the automotive mayhem, they are thrown back into the game thanks to the emergence of a mysterous woman, who may be playing the most dangerous game the team has ever encountered. This mysterious woman is played by Charlize Theron, returning to the action fold following her bravura Furious in Mad Max: Fury Road – an experience that likely proved helpful here.

Diesel and Rodriguez are joined by Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges,  Nathalie Emmanuel, Elsa Pataky, Scott Eastwood with Kurt Russell. Oscar winner Helen Mirren joins the team as well.

The Fate of the Furious opens in theaters on April 14th.
