‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ Forecast Ranges $200 Million Opening Weekend

The third installment of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man is projected to hit pandemic-era records. Spider-Man: No Way Home has already reached a record level of pre-sales overseas and gives momentum to believe that the film may reach pre-pandemic box office weekend ticket sales similar to Avengers: Endgame of around $200 million.

Presale tickets for the newest Spider-Man movie have been available on multiple cinema websites for only a couple of days. In little time many of these websites have experienced difficulties to process the high demand and some have even crashed. Countries like Brazil, Spain, the UK, and Mexico have scored best-ever pre-sales on the first day. This avalanche in pre-sales has given ground to believe that No Way Home will not only break the pandemic record in the box office but may even reach Endgame levels of success.

Social media traction is what films today heavily rely on for their success. For that matter Spider-Man: No Way Home is omnipresent on all platforms. Two weeks ago the return of iconic villains such as Willem Defoe’s Green Goblin, Jamie Foxx’s Electro, and Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus was confirmed during the final trailer of the movie. Consequently, internet speculations have jumped up over the possible special appearances of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield as two incarnations of Peter Parker from the multiverse.

All hype and speculation aside, recent pre-sale records from James Bond: No Time To Die and Dune, have shown that upfront ticket sales might not always carry over into the final weeks and days before release. Changing customer habits in recent years makes all forecasts during the pandemic far from an exact science. But given the fan-favorite Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise that Spider-Man represents it is more than likely that the web-slinger will swing to the top of the box office for many weeks to come.
