Sony Pictures (The Garfield Movie) has announced that the film adaptation of the popular horror video game Until Dawn (2015) will arrive in theaters on April 25, 2025. Directed by David F. Sandberg (Shazam! Fury of the Gods), the movie will feature an ensemble cast led by Ella Rubin (The Idea of You), Michael Cimino (The Deer Hunter), and Peter Stormare (Fargo).
Until Dawn (2025) tells the story of a group of friends who gather at a secluded mountain retreat, only to face a night of terror as they are hunted by an unknown killer. Written by horror veteran Gary Dauberman (Salem’s Lot), the film is sure to be frightening and brutal.
PlayStation Productions (Uncharted) is behind other successful video game film adaptations like The Last of Us (2023) and Gran Turismo (2023), and will produce the project alongside Screen Gems (Resident Evil: The Final Chapter).
Playstation Productions seeks to take the experience of playing a video game and “spin” the “shared DNA into movies.” This is the latest PlayStation property to make its leap to the big screen, as the studio continues its efforts to adapt iconic video game titles for film and television audiences.
