‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ Will Screen at the Upcoming Cannes Film Festival

Lucasfilm‘s newest installment of their beloved stories about galaxy far, far away, Solo: A Star Wars Story, is officially going to screen at the Cannes Film Festival being held May 8-19, 2018. The film was chosen in the official selection but is out of competition.

Director Ron Howard as well as cast members Alden Ehrenreich, Donald Glover, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, and a few others are expected to be in attendance at the festival.

The plot follows a young Hon Solo through his adventures in the dangerous criminal underworld of the Star Wars galaxy. Through his rebellious endeavours, we learn of the origins of the classic friendships, the fierce rivalries, and the untold secrets everyone’s favorite galaxy-saving Nerf Herder.

Solo: A Star Wars Story is the second installment of the “Star Wars Story” franchise that follows characters and plots outside of the immediate and well-known continuing plot line. The first film of this kind, Rogue One: A Star Wars Storyreached over $1 billion in worldwide box office sales after its release in December 2016.

Solo: A Star Wars Story is set for release in the U.S. on May 28, 2018.
