The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants reunited in New York City to support their fellow co-star America Ferrera for her role in the Barbie movie. Ferrera spoke at a SAG-AFRTA Q&A about Barbie, and her co-stars Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants co-stars Alexis Bledel, Amber Tamblyn, and Blake Lively all attended the event to support Ferrera.

Ferrara wrote in an Instagram post that showed the actresses posing for photos together, “The Sisterhood came through all in pink to celebrate my performance in Barbie last night. I love these women with all my heart.” Ferrera hashtagged the post #SisterhoodForever followed by emojis relating to the film.

The sisterhood has not reunited publicly since 2018 when Ferrara gave birth to her first child. Many fans have been hopeful for a reunion between the cast members and even further a possible third installment of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants movies.

Bledel spoke with Jimmy Fallon back in 2018 and explained that she and her co-stars brought up the idea of a third movie to executives. Bledel said, “I would love it. It would be the best thing.”

There is still a ways to go before any possible Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 3 hits theaters. Tamblyn said in an interview with SiriusXM’s Pop Culture Spotlight with Jessica Shaw, “We’ve been working on it for, I don’t know, it feels like a decade at this point. My hope is that it’ll get made at some point.”

Tamblyn explained it’s difficult since every member of the cast has families to think about now as well saying, “It’s hard. Family makes it hard. Life makes it hard… To me, it feels like the ultimate grift where I’m like, ‘Wait a minute, we’re gonna get paid to hang out when we do that in real life anyway? Cool, I’m in.’”
