Focus Features has released second trailer for the most recent collaboration between Emma Stone and Yorgos Lanthimos. The latest Bugonia trailer provides a fresh look at the film about two conspiracy-obsessed young men who kidnap the high-powered CEO of a major company, convinced that she is an alien intent on destroying planet Earth.
Like the first trailer, the second features the popular Chappell Roan song, Good Luck, Babe! as Stone’s character, Michelle, powers through corporate hallways. The music abruptly cuts as Jesse Plemons slams a recording device on the table in front of a captive, bald Stone.
Bugonia marks another work of Lanthimos, Stone, and Plemons, following Kinds of Kindness (2024). It was acquired by Focus Features at the Cannes Film Market in May.
The dark comedy is a remake of the 2003 South Korean film, Save the Green Planet! directed by Jang Joon-hwan. It had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival in August 2025. Will Tracy (The Menu, Succession) penned the script. Stavros Halkias, Aidan Delbis, and Alicia Silverstone also star in the film.
The film is produced by Lanthimos, Element Pictures (Ed Guiney, Andrew Lowe), Fruit Tree (Stone), Square Peg (Ari Aster, Lars Knudsen), and CJENM (Miky Lee, Jerry Kyoungboum Ko).
It is set for a limited release October 24, 2025 with a wider theatrical expansion on October 31.
