Screen Gems Acquires Spec Thriller ‘Delilah’ from Harrison Query & Tommy Wallach

Screen Gems has pre-emptively acquired Harrison Query & Tommy Wallach’s script, Delilah, which is said to be thriller in the vein of David Fincher’s Gone Girl with a strong female lead. The studio is reportedly fast-tracking production. The pic will be produced by Scott Glassgold of Ground Control Entertainment.

Query has been quite busy in the last year. He and Glassgold sold their horror pitch, My Wife and I Bought a Ranch… to Netflix for over $1 million last July. Query also made sale in October with the film Heads of State, which already has John Cena and Idris Elba attached to star with Peter Safran Producing. Query also is credited for writing the script for Andrew Dominik’s film, War Party, film about the Navy SEALS with Tom Hardy attached to star.

Wallach’s mostly known for his novel We All Looked Up, which spent 25 weeks on the NY Times Best Seller list. The novel almost received a film adaptation, but the project was likely dropped when Paramount Insurge, the Paramount studio tasked with handling smaller projects that had optioned the picture, was shut down in 2015.

We don’t know any specific details about Delilah or who will star in the picture, but considering the talent attached to Query’s other projects, there might be much more news about the film coming out in the near future.
