Scarlett Johansson In Talks to Star in ‘Move That Body’

According to Deadline, Scarlett Johansson (Avengers: Age of Ultron) is in talks with Sony Pictures to star in Move That Body. The script by Lucia Aniello (a director on Comedy Central’s sitcom Broad City) and Paul W. Downs (a Broad City principal) was recently voted to the 2015 Black List of best un-produced screenplays.

Aniello will direct, and Downs will co-star in the raunchy comedy, which is being described as The Hangover meets Weekend at Bernie’s. The story follows five friends who rent a Miami Beach House for a bachelorette weekend and accidentally kill a male stripper.

Aniello and Downs will produce via their Paulilu banner with Matt Tolmach and Dave Becky. Tolmach, producer and Sony exec, is a veteran in R-rated comedies, with involvement in The Other Guys, Zombieland, Step Brothers, Pineapple Express and Superbad.

The comedy will mark a change of scene for Johansson who has been almost exclusively in action films of late (The Avengers, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Lucy). She will return as Black Widow (Natasha Romanova) in Marvel’s highly anticipated Captain America: Civil War. Johansson had critically acclaimed turn with her voice work on Spike Jonze’s Her, which garnered 5 Oscar nominations and landed one Oscar win for Jonze’s original screenplay. The movie star has made her mark playing bewitching female dramatic leads (Match Point, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Girl with a Pearl Earring). She will headline the upcoming Coen Brothers’ Hail Caesar! which has a February 5 release date, and will voice the character of Kaa the snake in Jon Favreau’s The Jungle Book, which bows on April 15th. 2017 will see her in the live action adaptation of the manga cult classic Ghost in the Shell. She has also joined the cast of the animated musical Sing from director Garth Jennings (The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy).

We’ll have more on Move That Body as more information becomes available.
