Sarah Michelle Gellar & Rudy Pankow To Play The Devil And Grim Reaper In A New Romance Film From Mali Elfman

Sarah Michelle Gellar in Bleecker Street's 'STOP! THAT! TRAIN!' (2026)

Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy the Vampire SlayerScooby-Doo) and Rudy Pankow (Outer BanksReminders of Him) are set to star opposite each other in Thud, a romance film directed by Mali Elfman (Next Exit). The film is based on an original screenplay penned by Noga Pnueli and follows the Devil and the Grim Reaper bumping into each other at a wedding destination where they each hatched a sinister plan, only to fall in love instead. Gellar is set to play the Grim Reaper, with Pankow as the Devil.

The film is produced by Derek Bishé and David Grove Churchill Viste. The production companies involved include Helmstreet Productions, Radio Silence, and Divide/Conquer. It is planned to shoot in Los Angeles. Sarah Michelle Gellar recently appeared in Ready or Not 2: Here I Come with Samara Weaving and Kathryn Newton. She also appeared in the recently released Stop! That! Train! Rudy Pankow appeared in Reminders of Him earlier this year alongside Maika Monroe and Tyriq Withers, and he stars in the Hulu comedy Never Change! later this year.
