Sandra Bullock Attached to Star in ‘Cash Truck’

According to Deadline, Oscar-winning actress Sandra Bullock will headline the forthcoming thriller Cash Truck, an English-language remake of the 2004 French film Le Convoyeur. The film comes from Joel Silver’s Silver Pictures with deals being struck at the current Cannes Film Festival.

Josef Wladyka, who previously directed the 2014 Colombian thriller Dirty Hands and has helmed a few episodes of the Netflix series Narcos, will direct the project as well as pen the screenplay. The film centers on Alex (Bullock), an American with a past, who starts a job at a London armored car company which was recently the target of a heist that resulted in casualties. While Alex ingratiates herself with a tightly-knit crew,  she ventures into dangerous and ethically ambiguous measures to further an enigmatic agenda as her past starts to creep into the light.

Bullock won an Oscar for her lead performance in the 2009 blockbuster The Blind Side, yet hasn’t been on the big-screen since in a few years – her last role was in the political satire Our Brand is Crises nearly two years ago. In the time since, she starred in the sci-fi blockbuster Gravity (for which she received her second Oscar nomination for Best Actress) and voiced the villain in the 2015 animated spin-off Minions. She will next appear on screens in next year’s Ocean’s Eleven reboot entitled Ocean’s Eight, which features an all-female cast that includes Oscar winners Cate Blanchett and Anne Hathaway, as well as Sarah Paulson, Rihanna and Helena Bonham Carter. That film hits theaters on June 8, 2018.

We shall stay tuned to the latest on Cash Truck.
