Sam Raimi Reveals His Thoughts on ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’

This article contains spoilers for Spider-Man: No Way Home.

It is a pretty good time to be a Sam Raimi fan. Not only is he hard at work on directing Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness but his Spider-Man trilogy just got a resurgence after last year’s Spider-Man: No Way Home.

The film sets Tom Holland’s Peter Parker against enemies from movies past, including Willem Dafoe as Green Goblin from Rami’s Spider-Man and Alfred Molina as Doc Ock from Spider-Man 2. This in addition to Tobey Maguire’s return to the role for the first time since 2007s Spider-Man 3.

Now, Sam Raimi has spoken about his thoughts on the film. “It was so much fun,” Raimi said in an interview with Variety, “I love No Way Home and the audience I was with went crazy. It was delightful to watch Alfred play his role, and Willem Dafoe, just seeing these guys take it to the next level. And Tobey was awesome as always. The best word I can say is it was refreshing for me.”

It’s safe to say that audiences felt the same. No Way Home has gone on to gross about $1.69 billion at the box office.

Rami’s next film will be Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the teaser trailer played in the No Way Home credits. It is expected to release on May 6.
