More news about Marvel’s The Eternals has just come out! Apparently Marvel is currently talking to Salma Hayek about joining the cast of The Eternals, and according to Collider, she’s being considered for a rather significant role. As of right now, who Hayek’s is playing has not been specified, but perhaps fans familiar with the Eternal’s comic lore would be able to deduce the character she’s currently in talks to play. Hayek has had a long and extensive career, starring in comedies like Dogma, Oscar-nominated dramas like Frida, and even action movies like From Dusk till Dawn. So seeing Hayek as a super heroine is not really much of a stretch.
Hayek is not the only superstar actress that Marvel currently talking to for their Phase 4 entries. The studio is also trying to get Oscar winner Angelina Jolie to play character called Sersi. Other known cast members include Ma Dong-seok, The Big Sick star Kumail Nanjiani, and Game of Thrones actor Richard Madden, who has been cast as Irkikis.
The Eternals is being written by Matthew and Ryan Firpo, and will be directed by Chloe Zhao, who is best known for directing The Rider. Kevin Feige will serve as a producer on the movie.
