Ryan Gosling to Star in Adaptation of ‘The Fall Guy’

Ryan Gosling is set to star in an adaptation of the classic 80s piece of Prime Time Americana: The Fall Guy. The film follows a stuntman moonlighting as a bounty hunter, and is based on the series which ran from 1981 to 1986. Also attached are prolific producer Glen A. Larson and actor Lee Majors. Majors’ Colt Seavers worked with Douglas Barr’s Howie Munson and Heather Thomas’ Jody Banks, using their Hollywood knowledge to catch criminals. Each episode they chased swindlers, thieves, bikers, con-men, fugitives and corrupt officials, utilizing cunning disguises at some points and other goofy gadgets.

The film adaptation is helmed by David Leitch, former stuntman and director of Atomic BlondeDeadpool 2, and Hobbs and Shaw. The project has reportedly been in development for years. In 2020, the duo of Gosling and Leitsch talked about a “Untitled Stuntman Action Drama.” The film is to be shot in Australia with $30 Million dollars being contributed by the country to have Universal set the movie in Sydney.

An start date has yet to be announced for shooting and other major production capabilities, as Leitch is preparing for the release of his film Bullet Train, which is rolling into theaters on August 5th.
