Rosario Dawson and Owen Wilson Starring in Disney’s ‘Haunted Mansion’ Remake

Rosario Dawson and Owen Wilson are so going to get haunted! Dawson and Wilson are the latest stars to join Tiffany Haddish and LaKeith Stanfield in Disney’s live-action family adventure Haunted Mansion remake with Justin Simien directing (Netflix series Dear White People) with the script by Katie Dippold (The Heat).

Wilson was announced to have joined the remake a few days before Dawson by THR. The news of Dawson’s casting was broken soon afterwards by Deadline.

The specifics of what the remake will be about are being kept on the down-low.

Disneyland park visitors know the popular Haunted Mansion ride, which made its first appearance at Anaheim’s Disneyland in 1969. In 2003, Eddie Murphy’s comedy The Haunted Mansion used the ride as inspiration.

Disneyland is supposed to be the happiest place on earth, but not at The Haunted Mansion. It is the only attraction at Disneyland in which employees were actually encouraged not to smile. Smiling all day long can sure be exhausting.

Fans of Dawson can see her as Jedi Ahsoka Tano in the Disney+ series The Mandalorian, but most recently, she can be seen in David Oyelowo’s The Water Man.

Fans of Wilson can see him as Mobius in the Disney+ Marvel series Loki. Wilson will be seen next in Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch, and he just finished filming the rom-com Marry Me with Jennifer Lopez.

Filming is expected to begin soon in Atlanta.
