Fresh off of her Gone Girl success, Rosamund Pike joins Joel Kinnaman (The Killing) as the leads in the upcoming movie The Bends. The movie features deep ocean diving and intrigue regarding what is found down below.Tthe characters will struggle to fold the discovery into their own lives as a former Marine (presumably Kinnaman’s character) fights to pay off his debts to the mob and leave his past behind.
Kinnaman is known for his roles in RoboCop and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and is also attached to several upcoming films while Pike has received several nominations for her work in Gone Girl.
The Bends will be launched to foreign buyers by Sierra/Affinity at the upcoming Berlin Film Festival. The movie will be directed by Jean Luc Herbelot (The Dealer), written by Oliver Leo (The Garg Hunter), and produced by Cybill Lui’s new company Anova Pictures.. The film is currently at the beginning stages of development and as such has no set release date yet.
