Caitriona Balfe–lead actress in Starz’s Outlander series– has just landed a role in the Jodie Foster-directed Money Monster thriller alongside George Clooney, Julia Roberts, and Jack O’Connell– originally reported by THR. The film occurs in real-time as a working class man, Kyle Budwell (O’Connell), holds hostage the television money guru Lee Gates (Clooney) after losing all of his money from one of Gate’s insider tips. Balfe will play the head of PR for the company whose stock plummeted, leaving Budwell penniless. Balfe’s previous acting credits include appearances in Super 8, Now You See Me, and Escape Plan. She is currently one of Hollywood’s rising actresses after nabbing a breakout role on the Starz sci-fi romance series. Up ahead, she will appear in the French-produced film The Price of Desire and continue her work on Outlander.
