‘Rick and Morty’ Writer Jeff Loveness Joins ‘Ant-Man 3’

Though Black Widow may be delayed to November 2020, another Marvel film is making progress and has found its writer according to Hollywood Reporter. Jeff Loveness, whose resume includes work on Rick and Morty, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Miracle Workers, and Oscars and Emmys events, will be writing the script for the 3rd Ant-Man film. Loveness has already worked with Marvel before in the comics department for series about Spider-Man, Groot, and Nova, so he is no stranger to the complexity of the Marvel universe.

Loveness joins returning director Peyton Reed, who directed the first and second Ant-Man films. Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lily will both be returning as well.

So far, there is no update on when the film will start shooting, as most films have been pushed back for now. But it sounds like Loveness is already getting to work on the script during these weeks of at-home quarantine around the country. According to Disney’s most recent update, most of the upcoming Marvel films have found new release dates between November of this year to summer of 2022, so Ant-Man may have to wait until after that for a debut.

Ant-Man 3 is part of Marvel’s Phase 4, which begins after the plot of Avengers: Endgame and begins with Black Widow.
