Richard Linklater Drama ‘Where’d You Go Bernadette’ Gets New Trailer

Richard Linklater is known for creating variety of small films for the indie market and is adding another to his repertoire this year.  Where’d You Go Bernadette is his next project based on the best selling novel of the same name with Academy Award winning actress Cate Blanchett as the title character. The film. With an all star cast and Linklater’s typical indie flare, the upcoming film just had their newest trailer released.

The trailer starts out with some backstory behind Bernadette, a woman who is known for being very eccentric yet also incredibly creative. Throughout the first half of the trailer we see her interacting with various acquaintances and family members including some not so good incidents like causing a flood for one of her neighbors. Some of her family states that while she does have a lot of passion and creativit, she sacrificed a lot to focus on her family rather than herself. The trailer takes a turn as she ends up running away to Antarctica to take on one of her most ambitious projects yet. The film seems to have a lot of the indie charm with many characters played by well known actors as expected from Linklater. Given that Cate Blanchett is the lead, it’s clear that she will be giving it her all when playing an eccentric and passionate person like Bernadette in this film.

Ryan Pineda: When it comes to film, animation, video games and other mediums, I can discuss for hours about how much on why certain films and animated media made me the person I am today. I adore the artistic merit that comes from a lot of pop-culture media and will definitely love to have a conversation about favorite movies any day! I have graduated in 2017 with a BA in Film and Television at the University of Arizona. Been passionate about writing about films due to always having an interesting outlook on the medium. Will always see a film and will definitely be sure to recommend it to someone that I know for a fact would love that movie. Not only that but will also give reasons for why I think that film did or did not work as a movie, and the same can go for other pieces of media like television, video games and especially animated projects.
