Red Band Trailer for Simon Pegg’s ‘Kill Me Three Times’

Magnet has released a new red band trailer for Kill Me Three Times, the black comedy starring Simon Pegg (At World’s End). The film follows Pegg as a hired hit-man who’s given a job in a small town to unearth a wife’s infidelity, but soon gets caught up in a web of murder, blackmail, and revenge. Yahoo premiered the trailer, which highlights darker, morbid lead role for the usually more playful Pegg. Directed by the relatively unknown Kriv Stenders (Red Dog), the film also stars Teresa Palmer (Warm Bodies), Sullivan Stapleton (300: Rise of An Empire), Alice Braga (Elysium), Luke Hemsworth (The Reckoning), and Bryan Brown (Australia).

Billed as a neo-noir, Kill Me Three Times seems to draw heavily from Ethan and Joel Coen’s Blood Simple (1984)Narratively, the films share a lot of similar plot points, although Kill Me Three Times carries a decidedly more comedic tone in its story. For Pegg, who’s usually cast as a lovable but flawed protagonist, Kill Me seems to pin him as an antihero with very few redeeming qualities.

Pegg is slated to appear in three films this year, one of which is a reprisal of his character Benji in the Mission: Impossible franchise. Next year will see him in another mega-franchise, as he returns as Scotty in Star Trek 3, for which he is also co-writing the scriptKill Me Three Times will premiere on iTunes and On Demand on March 26th, and in limited release in theaters on April 10th.
