Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy) and Director Brad Peyton (Rampage, San Andreas) join forces on Universe’s Most Wanted, a sci-fi fantasy film that will go into production next year. AGC Studios and CAA Media Finance are launching worldwide sales on the project in the coming weeks to coincide with the virtual AFM.
The film follows a small town that gets a big surprise when a spaceship carries the universe’s most wanted criminals crash lands in their backyard. The sheriff’s son soon becomes a hero. He works with an intergalactic peacekeeper (Bautista) to rally up the alien prisoners and keep them from escaping and taking over the world.
Bautista and Peyton will produce the film with F. Scott Frazier (xXx: Return of Xander Cage) and Jimmy Loweree (Strings, Absence) writing the script. Bautista will produce via his production company Dream Bros Entertainment and with Dream Bros’ Jonathan Meisner.
“Jeff and I are incredibly excited to be teaming up with Dave, Jonathan, and AGC on this project. Scott and Jimmy are terrific writers and have conceived of the perfect sci fi tentpole that fits perfectly into ASAP’s brand and my directing sensibilities. We couldn’t be more thrilled to get going on Universe’s Most Wanted. This is the type of fun, mysterious and irreverent adventure we all need right now,” said Peyton.
Bautista recently starred in the family comedy film My Spy and is set to return for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
