Quentin Tarantino’s Version of ‘Halloween 6’ Sounds Wild

Quentin Tarantino has had a long and storied relationship with Miramax, creating multiple movies with the company. Over the years, Tarantino has been attached to many un-produced movies, but according to new report, he was approached to pen the script for the long running Halloween franchise and his idea was certainly interesting.

The aforementioned studio originally approached Tarantino for the 6th installment, which would become Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers, tasking him with expanding on the “Cult of Thorn” storyline that was introduced in the 5th installment. That film, Halloween: The Revenge of Michael Myers, introduced “the Man in Black’ character, setting up a rationale to explain Michael’s madness and supernatural abilities. The 5th film concluded with Michael being broken out of jail by the figure and Tarantino aimed to expand the ominous cult figure… through a road trip movie.

Tarantino pitched his version of the film as Halloween meets Natural Born Killers, following ‘The Man in Black’-who was revealed to be Dr. Terence Wynn- and Myers on a bloody Route 66 road trip. This idea is certainly interesting, adding in a new element to the franchise formula that would theoretically expand on both characters. Whether the film would have been better than what fans got will never be known, but it certainly wouldn’t have been boring.

Fans can sit and ponder this situation as they await the release of Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends, the two sequels set to follow up the successful 2018 reboot, also titled HalloweenBoth sequels are currently set to release October 16th, 2020 and October 15th, 2021 respectively.
