‘Pride And Prejudice And Zombies’ Gets a Release Date

Cross Creek Pictures has announced a release date for their upcoming adaptation of the Seth Grahame Smith novel, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. The romantic horror comedy will release February 19, 2016.

The movie adapts the book that mixes the Jane Austen novel with the zombie apocalypse, and stars Lily James (Cinderella) as Elizabeth Bennet, Sam Riley (Maleficent) as Mr. Darcy, and Matt Smith (Dr. Who) as Mr. Collins. Game of Thrones stars Lena Headey and Charles Dance are also attached to the project.

Lily James has a number of projects in the pipeline including the cooking comedy Adam Jones and is currently filming the TV mini-series adaptation War and Peace. After the success of Cinderella, it’s hard to see that stopping anytime soon.

If Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is a success, don’t be surprised if other novels in the Quirk Books line – Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters, Android KareninaThe Meowmorphosis – get similar treatments. There are also two sequels in the Pride and Prejudice and Zombies series.
