Parker Finn’s remake of Possession, a movie originally made by Andrzej Zulawski in 1981, has set a release date for June 11th, 2027. The movie is set to star Margaret Qualley (The Substance) and Callum Turner (Masters of Air) and Paul Dano (There Will Be Blood) who was just announced joining the cast back in June. Parker Finn announced that he was working on the movie back in 2024 during press run for his movie Smile 2. In an interview with Zavii, Finn states, “I’m very excited about it, I can’t say too much about other than the fact that the original is one of my favorite films of all time and I’m very excited to make something that’s going to be…homaging and honoring Zulawski’s masterpiece while you know, sort of being a spiritual sibling or descendent…in conversation in dialogue with that original film and I can’t wait for people to see it.”
The original movie from 1981, starred Sam Neill (Jurassic Park) who recently passed in July, and Isabelle Adjani (Nosferatu the Vampyre). The original movie followed a man finding out his wife is having an affair but learns that something deep with in her is wrong. Still no other information has been released about who is playing what character in the new adaptation.
