The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) is approaching, and the prestigious festival has just unveiled a new batch of titles premiering at the fest. Headlining the bunch is Wild Horse Nine, Martin McDonagh’s newest film starring Sam Rockwell and John Malkovich. The director of Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri and The Banshees of Inisherin is debuting his next film at the festival ahead of its November wide release.
Additionally, Werner Herzog (Nosferatu the Vampyre, Grizzly Man) is premiering his latest film at the fest. Bucking Fastard is a drama about a pair of twins who feel, act, and even think the same way. It stars real life sisters Kate Mara and Rooney Mara, as well as Orlando Bloom and Domhnall Gleeson.
Cody Fern’s directorial debut, Closing Night, will make its way to TIFF. The film stars Naomi Watts, Sarah Paulson and Odessa A’zion. It was written by Fern and Devon Bostick. Also in the Special Presentations category are Peter Ho-Sun Chan’s The Road Not Taken and Bahman Ghobadi’s Trees are Watching. Finally, Sian Heder, the Oscar-winning filmmaker behind CODA, is debuting Being Heumann, a new biographical drama based on a memoir. It stars Mark Ruffalo, Ruth Madeley, Ray Fisher and Dylan O’Brien.
The Toronto International Film Festival runs from September 10-20.
