PGA Awards Charles D. King With Milestone Award

In recognition of his contributions to the entertainment industry, film producer Charles D. King is set to be honored with the Milestone Award at the 35th annual Producers Guild of America (PGA) Awards on February 25, 2024.

The Milestone Award, the PGA’s most prestigious accolade, is reserved for producers or production teams that have made historic impacts on the world of entertainment.

King, the founder of MACRO, a multiplatform media company dedicated to representing the voices and perspectives of Black people, indigenous people, and individuals of color, will join the ranks of legendary recipients like Louis B. Mayer, Walt Disney, and Alfred Hitchcock. This esteemed award serves as a testament to King’s profound influence on the industry.

MACRO has earned 15 Oscar nominations for its films, including notable recognition for the best picture nominee Judas and the Black Messiah. King’s historic achievements include being the first Black partner at William Morris Endeavor and, in 2021, making history as part of the first all-Black team of nominated producers for an Academy Award, with the best picture Oscar nomination for Judas and the Black Messiah.

King is also recognized as a philanthropist and a member of prestigious organizations like the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences and the Television Academy. He also participates in the Sundance Institute, College Track, and the American Cinematheque.
