Paramount Releases Trailer for Animated Movie ‘Rumble’

The trailer for Paramount Animation’s upcoming animated film Rumble was just released. The trailer reveals some of the movie’s plot and characters, as well as a number of jokes that reference the 80’s classic Dirty Dancing.

According to ScreenRant, the plot of Rumble is set in a world where monsters and humans exist together and, in this world, monster wrestling is a major sport, which makes sense considering WWE Studios’ involvement in the movie’s production. Rumble will focus on a human woman named Winnie, voiced by actress Geraldine Viswanathan (Blockers), whose goal is to train a rookie monster wrestler named Steve (Will Arnett, of Bojack Horseman and Arrested Development fame). Together, Steve and Winnie must face off against other wrestling monsters, including the league’s champion monster Tentacular, voiced by none other than Brooklyn 99 and White Chicks actor Terry Crews.

Rumble will be directed by first time director Hamish Grieve, who is a veteran of the animation industry and has worked as a crew member on many major DreamWorks animated movies, including Rise of the Guardians, Monsters vs. Aliens and Shrek 2. The movie will be released in winter of next year. Catch the trailer below:
