Paramount Players is a division of Paramount Pictures that was formed on June 2017 as the division that will tackle more contemporary and experimental films. In October of last year, the Players picked up Eli, a psychological horror film set to release on January 4, 2019. The group has officially picked up its second project titled The Strange Fascinations of Noah Hypnotik, a film that is based on a forthcoming book by David Arnold set to release in May, according to Variety.
The film and book stars a young 16-year old named Noah who becomes hypnotized and starts to see changes that never existed like a scar on his mother’s face, his originally limp dog being completely normal, and a friend of his who was a huge DC nerd suddenly become enthralled with only the Marvel comics. The only parts that stay the same in his life are his strange fascinations, which have yet to be revealed.
According to David Arnold, the story’s theme focuses on how we hurt our friends without knowing it, but also the way they save us by sticking around and helping. There is currently no writers to adapt the film nor any castings as of yet, but we will keep you updated on future news about the film.
