It looks like audiences will be waiting a bit longer for some of Paramount’s most anticipated films. The studio recently made some changes to their calendar resulting in significant delays on films like Top Gun: Maverick, Mission: Impossible 7 and Dungeons & Dragons among others.
Top Gun: Maverick was set to hit screens this summer, but will now fly high later this year November 19, 2021, which was the day that Mission: Impossible 7 was meant to release. The next sequel in the Mission: Impossible franchise will now release May 27, 2022, and its sequel, Mission: Impossible 8, will move from November 4, 2022 to July 7, 2023.
The Dungeons & Dragons film, which is set to star Chris Pine, Hugh Grant and Regé-Jean Page has been moved from May 27, 2022 to March 3, 2023, and the fourth Jackass film has been delayed from September 3, 2021 to October 22, 2021. The only movie pushed forward was the G.I. Joe spinoff starring Henry Golding, Snake Eyes, which will release this summer July 23, 2021 instead of its previous release date, October 22, 2021.
The other films that were affected include an Untitled Bee Gees film which is set to release November 4, 2022. It was also announced that Ron Howard’s The Shrinking of Treehorn will release November 10, 2023, and an untitled film starring Ryan Reynolds and John Krasinski was announced for November 17, 2023.
