The entertainment world has lost another icon today as actress Cloris Leachman has passed away from natural causes at her home. She had quite an accomplished and long life at 94, and will be remembered for her contributions to film and TV.
In the film world she is best remembered for her roles in Young Frankenstein, The Longest Yard, Kiss Me Deadly, and The Last Picture Show, for which she won the Oscar for best supporting actress in 1971. On the TV side of things, her resume is packed full of major titles including The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Malcolm in the Middle, The Facts of Life, The Ellen Degeneres Show, and Raising Hope. In total her TV appearances earned her eight primetime Emmys, one daytime Emmy, and induction into the TV Hall of Fame in 2011.
Her most recent credits include voicework in The Croods: A New Age and Elena of Avalor. She starred in two films yet to be released– comedy High Holiday and drama Not to Forget– both of which are currently scheduled for 2021 release.
She is survived by her four children– Adam, Dinah, George Jr., and Morgan. With her many accomplishments in the art of acting over many decades, she is sure to be remembered for decades to come.
