After cleaning up at the Golden Globes, Oppenheimer added more awards to its already expansive collection during the Critics Choice Awards. It was able to take home Best Picture, as well as a multitude of other awards.
Oppenheimer went home with eight awards last night, including Best Picture, Best Director for Christopher Nolan, Best Acting Ensemble, Best Supporting Actor for Robert Downey Jr., along with Best Visual Effects, Best Editing, Best Score, and Best Cinematography for a non-televised production. With these wins and the wins at the Golden Globes, Oppenheimer is already established as the heavy-hitter of this year’s award season.
As Deadline points out, who also posted a complete list of the recipients, the Critics Choice Awards harkened back to the Barbenheimer craze of the summer. While Oppenheimer had the most awards of the show, with eight to its name, Barbie came up second, with six awards in total. It took home Best Song for “I’m Just Ken,” Best Comedy, Best Original Screenplay, Best Costume Design, Best Hair and Makeup, and Best Production Design for a non-televised production.
Also carrying over from the Golden Globes is Paul Giamatti’s win for Best Actor in The Holdovers and co-star Da’Vine Joy Randolph winning again for Best Supporting Actress. However, while Lily Gladstone took home Best Actress at the Globes for Killers Of The Flower Moon, Emma Stone won it at the Critics Choice Awards.
On top of the other awards, Margot Robbie gave Barbie co-star America Ferrera the SeeHer award. James Mangold also presented the Career Achievement Award to the headliner of Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny, Harrison Ford.
