Official Logo Revealed for James Gunn’s ‘The Suicide Squad’

The Suicide Squad is one of the many high profile projects that die-hard DC fans are eager to watch when it finally comes out. Director of the film, James Gunn has been updating fans on a consistent basis on more information regarding the film as it is still in post-production for the time being. Today on twitter, James Gunn revealed the official logo that would be used for the film.

The font of logo is big red text that look in the vein of classic 70s exploitation films which is something that Gunn clearly had some influence from when creating this new film. In addition, the logo is also covered in bullet holes to indicate the violent nature this film is expected to have. One interesting not about the new logo for the DC film is that not only did James reveal the logo for the film in English, but he included the logo in different languages as well including Spanish and Japanese. This is most definitely due to how Warner Brothers want to emphasis the diverse cast of the characters that will be included in the film and also as a way to appeal to foreign markets as well.

The logo’s reveal was in preparation for  DC’s upcoming Fan Dome event that will be held virtually on August 22nd 2020. In the post, James Gunn also stated that he has a lot to show the fans when the event will be held. This is to imply we may get a more extensive look at the upcoming feature film around that time, potentially even a full trailer for the film. For as small as this logo is, it’s definitely an indication of what to come within the next few weeks as more and more things will be revealed for the upcoming DC film.

The Suicide Squad is set for release August 6th 2021

Ryan Pineda: When it comes to film, animation, video games and other mediums, I can discuss for hours about how much on why certain films and animated media made me the person I am today. I adore the artistic merit that comes from a lot of pop-culture media and will definitely love to have a conversation about favorite movies any day! I have graduated in 2017 with a BA in Film and Television at the University of Arizona. Been passionate about writing about films due to always having an interesting outlook on the medium. Will always see a film and will definitely be sure to recommend it to someone that I know for a fact would love that movie. Not only that but will also give reasons for why I think that film did or did not work as a movie, and the same can go for other pieces of media like television, video games and especially animated projects.
