The Odyssey is confirmed to be a smash hit, bringing home a whopping $124.5 million for its opening weekend (domestic) after incredible previews of 40 million Friday. Christopher Nolan’s epic also sits as his highest rated film, bringing audiences what could possibly be another multi Oscar nominated film. The Odyssey is also sitting as Matt Damon’s best domestic opening weekend, setting another record for the actor. Moana trails behind with a measly 19 million for its second week, absolutely decimated by The Odyssey’s performance for a second place finish. Toy Story 5 took third in its fifth week with 14.8 million.
Minions & Monsters comes in fourth with 14.8 million, tying with Toy Story 5. though it is only in its third week. Evil Dead Burn took home 5 million in its second week in fifth place.
The Invite took sixth place with 3.9 million, beating Young Washington, which only brought 3.67 million for a seventh place finish. Obsession finished in eighth place this week with 2.5 million for its tenth week. Ninth went to Supergirl which hangs on with 1.5 million to the top ten in its fourth week, beating Disclosure Day, which only saw 1.4 million in its sixth week.
