Steve Carrell, Nicole Kidman, and Amy Schumer have officially boarded Rebecca Miller’s new film She Came to Me.
Little is known about the plot of She Came to Me other than it has been described as ‘a comedic drama set in the world of contemporary opera and tug boats that cuts into the layer cake of American society with wit and heart’. Round Films and OddLot Entertainment will be producing. OddLot recently produced critically-acclaimed films Manchester by the Sea and Hell or High Water.
Rebecca Miller is most well-known for directing the 2005 film The Ballad of Jack and Rose, which starred Daniel Day Lewis, Camilla Belle, and Paul Dano. The same year, she also wrote the film adaption of Proof, which starred Gwyneth Paltrow, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Anthony Hopkins. A decade later, in 2015, she directed the film Maggie’s Plan, with a cast including Ethan Hawke, Julianne Moore, Bill Hader, and Maya Rudolph.
Steve Carrell can next be seen in Battle of the Sexes, as tennis star Bobby Riggs, alongside recent Oscar-winner Emma Stone. He is also starring in Richard Linklater’s film Last Flag Flying with Bryan Cranston, and will be reprising his role as Gru in the animated film Despicable Me 3.
Nicole Kidman can currently be seen on the HBO limited series Big Little Lies, but will also be seen in upcoming feature films such as Sofia Coppola’s The Beguiled, Yorgos Lathimos The Killing of the Sacred Deer, and Untouchable.
Amy Schumer announced yesterday that she was dropping out of the Barbie live-action movie. But look for her in the coming year in Snatched with Goldie Hawn, and Thank You For Your Service with Miles Teller and Haley Bannett.
