New actors to the cast are Awkwafina, Leslie Jones, Rachel Bloom, Eugenio Derbez, Dove Cameron, Zach Woods, Sterling K. Brown, Lil Rel Howery, and now, Nicki Minaj. Minaj’s role in the movie has not yet been announced. Variety first reported the news.
Angry Birds Movie 2 is directed by Thurop Van Orman and co-directed by John Rice. Executive producers are David Maisel and Catherine Winder. Sony Pictures Imageworks is responsible for animation. The movie is going to be released to theaters on August 16, 2019, the 10th anniversary of Angry Birds, the game.
The first Angry Birds was directed by Clay Kaytis and Fergal Reilly. The movie debuted in 2016 and grossed $107.5 million domestically.
