Sony has released a new trailer and poster for the British drama/comedy, Lady in the Van, starring Maggie Smith (The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel). The movie tells the true story of the transient woman (Smith) who lives in a van. She forms an unexpected bond with the man (Alex Jennings) who lives in the home in front of which her van is parked.
The trailer gives a clear indication that this will be a showcase for Smith’s talent. She’ll also get a chance to play off younger British actors like Dominic Cooper (Captain America: The First Agenda) and James Corden (Begin Again).
Smith has garnered a lot of positive fan and critical reaction while playing Lady Violet Crawley on Downtown Abbey. She’s returning to star in the sequel The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, which will be released March 6 of this year. The Lady in the Van is currently in post-production and will be released later in the year. Check out the trailer below:
