After watching the latest trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, we are just about ready to join the rebellion ourselves. The new footage places audiences right in the action and takes us further into the world of the individual characters, making for quite an inspirational ride.
Based on the trailer, Rogue One looks like the franchise is taking a step into the look and feel of indie territory with an even stronger emphasis on character as an impetus for action.
Rogue One is a Star Wars prequel about the team of rebel fighters tasked to steal the plans for the Death Star. Jyn Erso (Oscar nominee Felicity Jones) is the leader of this rogue group and it looks as though she will be going directly against her father, Galen Erso (Mads Mikkelsen), who has hefty hand in the Death Star’s creation along with new villain Director Orson Krennic (Emmy winner Ben Mendelsohn) and Darth Vader himself. Her rag tag comrades in arms also include actors Diego Luna (The Terminal), Riz Ahmed (Nightcrawler), Oscar winner Forest Whitaker, and Alan Tudyk (Dodgeball) as the droid K-2SO.
Rogue One, directed by Gareth Edwards, hits theaters on December 16. Check out the film’s latest one-sheet below.
