Netflix Drops Trailer For ‘Call My Agent! The Movie’

The trailer for Call My Agent! The Movie was released today by Netflix prior to its upcoming release date on September 10th in France.

Originally, Call My Agent was a comedy-drama that ran for four seasons in France. Camille Cottin (House of Gucci), Laure Calamy (Full Time) are shown in the trailer and will be returning as their characters, Andrea and Noémie from the show.  The show followed the lives of employees of a talent agency and now five years later, when the film takes place, the talent agency is closed and the workers have moved on. The movie follows Andrea after the five year gap, as she tries to direct her first feature film, but runs into a roadblock when her main star leaves the film to star in another project.  Left with little options, she must reach out to her old coworkers for assistance finishing the film on time.

Fanny Herrero, the series creator and co-writer, told Variety that she had trouble writing a plot for the film since most characters went in different directions at the end of the series. “It’s very rich because it allows us to expand on what we’re telling about cinema, about the making of a film, about behind the scenes,” Herrero added. It is yet to be seen if the film can capture the same allure possessed by the series.
